ICAST 2010 Review
Posted by Bob on July 23, 2010

Well, the Shark Tooth swam to Las Vegas for the big show and devoured everything in sight. ASA put the chum in the water and the Shark Tooth feasted on the competition.
What a great show! I had a blast checking out all the products for the 2011 season not to mention all the hotties running around. Our booth was packed the whole time and the celebrities kept coming like a river overflowing its banks.

Ray Scott (the founder of Bass Masters) came by, he just had to see the product that was the talk of the show. What a cool cat he is. Mr. Scott said that he hadn’t seen anything so inventive in the last 42 attendances at ICAST! Now that statement says it all about the Shark Tooth. That man has been around and he couldn’t keep his hands off it. We’re also invited to his pad for some kick-ass fishing, can’t wait for that.
We also hooked up with the number one angler on the plant and proud endorser of the Shark Tooth: KVD. What a great guy and one hell of a fisherman, he’s a blast to hang out with. Kevin loves the Shark Tooth and it’s just a no brainier that he’d endorse it.

It just makes sense for cutting all your lines and also keeping them in control on your boat and in your bags. Kevin added, “no more bird nests!” Kevin also did a demonstration of the Shark Tooth in action for WFN (World Fishing Network), which will air to over 40 million viewers in the next few months. We’re already working on the next generation of the Tooth with Kevin which will be introduced at the Classic in February.
The buzz also got to Mike Icconelly who stopped by to see the Shark Tooth swimming in action.

What an awesome guy and a fantastic fisherman. Mike sports the Shark Tooth on his spools, so why shouldn’t you? “It’s just so simple,” Mike said, “and it sure makes fishing a little more fun and less frustrating. What a great product!” Guess who else stopped by? Larry Dahlberg, Bill Dance, Babe Winkleman and lots of other bass pros and saltwater junkies.
The Shark Tooth chewed up the buyers as well: Basspro, Cabelas, Fishing Tackle Unlimited, Academy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Sports Authority to just name a few. The Shark Tooth also made it to every country around the world to feed on Brazil, Tahiti, Hungry, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Iceland, just to name a few.
There was one drawback with the new product showcase: a product like the Shark Tooth Spool Management System has to be demonstrated for people to see its functionality and understand how it actually works. We had the media at our booth after the votes were in and they were upset and distraught. There must have been 20 to 30 people who told us that if we could have demoed the product and explained what the product is used for, they would have voted for it. An ASA member tracked me down in the hallway at the Hilton when he saw our bitching shirts that had “Shark Tooth” all over them. He was wondering what the product was and informed me that we lost by a very small margin. I know that if people knew what it was, we would have taken home the whiskey glass. I seriously think the ASA has to reconsider and let people demo the products before judging.
FFX would like to thank everyone who helped make this dream a reality. These types of projects are not easy and we realize all involved made it a reality for us. The Shark Tooth is hungry and swimming to a store near you, so what are you waiting for – “TAKE A BITE OUT OF LINE” SHARK TOOTH SPOOL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
